Hot Potatoe is a freeware that includes 5 different authoring applications. You can create different activities such as crosswords, gap-filling or matching, as in our case, among others. 

In the next activity, you´ll see an example of a matching activity. It includes images to make the exercise easier and more fun for the kids.

Padlet, an easy way to have fun

A digital wall for the classroom

This is an easy to use intuitive tool that encourages the collaboration between teachers and students.

The wall you can see below refers to water. It´s a visual way to see the states and the cycle of water. The video is to finish the activity in a playful way.

Working with Word an Power Point

It´s time to talk about two useful and probably better known tools. You´ll see how both can be used to work the same issue in a different way. The topic we are going to work is "farm animals".

I´ll show you first the Power Point. We will use the digital blackboard to show the power point with the images of the animals we want to learn and their spelling. The teacher will pronounce the words and the kids will have to repeat them. There is also a question in each seet that the teacher will ask encouraging the kids to start a conversation. We will mainly work the listening and the speaking, although kids also will start getting familiar to the spelling of the words.

Power Point_Farm Animals 

The second one is the worksheet created with Word. It is time for individual work. We will give each kid the worksheet where they will find three columns: one with the images of the animals, the second with the names of the animals but not inthe same order as the images; and the third one with a space to write. This time they will have to: 
1_Match the image in column 1 with the correct name in columns 2.
2_Write in column 3 the correct name of the animal that appears in the image in column 1.
